OET is recognized by Regulatory Healthcare Bodies and Councils in Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand and Singapore. The OET Intensive, which is suitable for all healthcare professionals, is a one or two month preparation course that provides students with the essential skills, test-taking strategies and to enhance their performance throughout the test.
The students are provided guidance about how to speak, write, listen and read in OET to accomplish a nice band in the exam. The outcomes are provided in accordance to the OET grading system that is A, B, C, D etc. The students are provided correction and evaluation after the test.
There are several organizations that include colleges, universities, hospitals that utilize OET as an evidence of the ability of the candidate to communicate in an effective manner in a demanding healthcare environment.
OET facilitates a valid evaluation of the 4 language skills Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. It lays a great stress on communication in medical and health professional settings. It comprises of 4 sub-tests:- Listening (50 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (45 minutes) and Speaking (20 minutes)
